Owning land

If you are a foreign national you are not entitled to own land in your own name. How do people do it you may ask. As with most regulations there are ways around them. Some of the basic ways are……...

>Purchase Land in the name of your Thai spouse.

>Land in the name of a  Thai registered company (you own 49% and your Thai partners own 51%, but remain silent and sign over control of their shares to you). Recent enforcement of laws has made this option less attractive

>Lease options, for 30 years, registered with the land office. With a prepaid option to roll over for another 30 years.

>Invest 40M baht (~1,000,000 USD). Submit petition to the ministry of the interior and you may be permitted to own 1 Rai in you own name.

You can get advise from many sources. Please do and when you feel that you’ve covered all the bases contact us to do the rest for you.
